Ora Heath

DOGWOOD - Ora Mae Heath, 93, went to be with the Lord at 4:50 a.m. March 1, 2005, at her home in Dogwood.

Born May 12, 1911, in Wickliffe, Ky., daughter of the late Della B. and E.H. Sullivan, she was a member of the Dogwood United Methodist Church. She worked tirelessly owning and operating the family farm, cattle operation and antique business. Other interests include her church, family, politics, gardening and sharing her knowledge, wisdom and love with family and friends.

On March 5, 1932, in Charleston, she married Lewey Heath, who preceded her in death on July 6, 1981.

Also preceding her in death were one brother, Eurbin Sullivan; one sister, Mildred Burnett; and her daughter-in-law, Mamie Pope Heath.

Survivors include: a son, Jim Heath Sr. of Wickliffe; a grandson, Dr. Jimmy Heath and wife, Betty, of East Prairie; a granddaughter, Pam McNeil, and husband, Hall, of Knoxville, Tenn.; one sister, Idell Morgan, of Wickliffe; three great-grandsons, Brandon Heath and fiancee Lori Palmore of Columbia, Blake Heath of Jefferson City and David Heath of Knoxville. Mrs. Heath also shared her family with Tom Menley of Mer Rouge, La., nine nieces and nephews and many loved ones whom she called "her kids."

Visitation begins at 5 p.m. Thursday at Shelby Funeral Home at the Dogwood United Methodist Church, where services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday. The Rev. Harold Norton, the Rev. Charles Carr and the Rev. Chris Wise will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Dogwood Cemetery.
