BELL CITY - Virgil "J.D." Freeman Sr., 62, died Nov. 8, 2003, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
Born Feb. 12, 1939, in Trenton, Tenn., son of the late John Franklin and Jane Edna Harris Freeman, he was a mechanic for Potashnick Transportation Inc. and was of the Baptist belief.
Survivors include: one son, Virgil Freeman Jr. of Oak Ridge; four brothers, A.J. Freeman of Kenton, Tenn., Henry Freeman of Sikeston, Eldon Freeman of Rutherford, Tenn., and Mitchell Freeman of Milan, Tenn.; four sisters, Ada Duck of Kentucky, Mary Ruth Duck of Aurora, Ill., Opal Burns of Parma and Jody Mathis of Sikeston; and five grandchildren.
Three brothers and one sister preceded him in death.
Visitation is from 11 a.m. Tuesday until service time at 2 p.m. at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston. The Rev. Wes Wright, pastor of the Mount Auburn Christian Church of Cape Girardeau, will officiate.
Burial will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston.
