Friday, August 29, 2003

CHAFFEE - Irmgard "Irm" Chronister, 72, beloved wife of James H. Chronister, died at 8:45 a.m. Aug. 28, 2003, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

Irmgard was born Oct. 29, 1930, in Munich, Germany, to the late Simon and Maria Pertl. She came to America around 1960. James and Irmgard met in Chicago, Ill., and were married on Feb. 14, 1970 and he survives.

For many years in Chicago, Wichita, Kan., Los Angeles, Houston, Texas, and Chaffee, Irm took great pride in her hair dressing skills. Several ladies around town can attest to that fact. Irm also held a state of California realtors license, of which she was very proud.

Irm was a member of the Morley Chapter 342 Order of the Eastern Star and was past president of the BPOE Lady Elks organization.

Survivors in addition to her husband include: two brothers, Rudy Pertl and Klaus Pertl of Munich; one sister, Margaret Montag of Munich; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Simon Pertl, Earnst Pertl and Peter Pertl.

Visitation begins at 4 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee where a Morley Order of the Eastern Star service will be conducted at 7 p.m.

Services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Watis Harrell officiating.

Burial will follow in Union Park Cemetery.

I grieve deeply the loss of my love, my partner and will miss her and think of her each day of my life. Her "little ones," Missy and Cassy, share the grief.
