BELL CITY -- Airlean Walker "Al" Peat, 72, died May 25, 2003, at her home.

Born Oct. 12, 1930, in Bell City, daughter of the late Burke and Gertrude Reed Walker, she was a member of the New Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church in Haywood City.

In 1951, she married Willie Peat who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: three brothers, Joseph Walker of Chicago, Ill., Henry W. Walker of Harvey, Ill., and Nelvin "John" Walker of Las Vegas, Nev.; and three sisters, Mary Louise Cummings of Benton Harbor, Mich., Frankie Bell of Las Vegas and Rosie Lee Bronner of St. Louis.

Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Williams-Farr and Purnell Funeral Home in Sikeston.

Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at the West End Missionary Baptist Church in Sikeston with the Rev. Alex Sims, pastor of the New Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church, officiating.

Burial will follow in the J.C. Pullen Memorial Garden Cemetery in Bell City.
