SIKESTON - Paul Rose of Sikeston was taken to St Mary's Hospital in Cairo, Ill., Monday and on Tuesday underwent an operation for the removal of his foot.

SIKESTON - The SEMO-South team won the District 3 championship at the 13-year-old Babe Ruth tournament. The team was composed of players from Chaffee, Scott City, New Hamburg, Oran and Benton. Team members include: Benjamin Klipfel, Josh Hanlon, Adam Andrews, Brian Heuring, Justin McAlister, Ryan LeGrand, Josh Klipfel, Talmas McAlister, Howard Stubenrauch, Nick Dannenmueller, Justin Vetter, Keith Anderson, Justin Braun, Jamie Dumey, Joey Jacobs, Dirk Dirnberger, Darrell Klipfel and Rick Minner.

SIKESTON - An unusual accident occurred Monday on West North Street and Sunset Drive when a home, owned by the Sikeston Housing Authority, was struck by a 1983 Lincoln, driven north by a 29-year-old Sikeston woman. According to the Department of Public Safety, Winston stated that she was traveling on North Street when she confused the gas and brake pedals, lost control and went through the residence.
