SIKESTON - Richard S. "Dick" McDougal, 81, died March 6, 2005, at his home.

Born Oct. 1, 1923, in Bernie, son of the late Prince A. and Pansy Johnston McDougal, he was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and was an insurance agent before retiring.

On June 12, 1955, he married Betty Christian who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Prince A. and Layne McDougal of Birmingham, Ala.; two daughters and one son-in-law, Kristi and Jeffrey Gibbs of Kansas City and Tamra McDougal of San Diego; and five grandchildren, Wesley McDougal, Davis McDougal and Peyton McDougal of Birmingham and Katherine Gibbs and Lee Gibbs of Kansas City.

He was preceded in death by one infant sister.

Visitation is from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston.

Memorial services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the First United Methodist Church in Sikeston with the Rev. Jonathan Cooney, associate pastor, officiating.

Burial will be private at Missouri State Veterans' Cemetery in Bloomfield.
