Born Aug. 13, 1918, near Wyatt, daughter of the late Lee and Rosie Johnson Forrester, she lived in Mississippi County most of her life. She had been a waitress for the Charleston Cafe.
In 1933, she married Yeura Elrod who preceded her in death on Nov. 18, 1986.
Survivors include: one son, Charles Lee Elrod of Oklahoma City, Okla.; two daughters, Alice Elizabeth Tharp of Sikeston and Karen Sue Kolwyck of Lilbourn; and seven grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Two sisters, one brother and five half brothers also preceded her in death.
Visitation begins at 5 p.m. today at Shelby Funeral Home, where services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday. Darrell Pollock will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Dogwood Cemetery near East Prairie.
Pallbearers will be: Jim Elrod, Christy Hutcheson, Chad Fetters, Robert Kolwyck, Richard Kolwyck and Michael Kolwyck.
