Born Oct. 6, 1921, in Clarkton, Mo., son of the late Roy R. and Icy V. Haislip Hildebrand, he graduated from Lilbourn (Mo.) High School and was a member of the United Methodist Church. A World War II veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, he was a member of the Masonic Lodge for 57 years. He operated a retail store with his father in Risco, Mo., for 10 years and he and his wife operated a dairy farm and restaurant at Campbell, Mo. Before retiring in 1997 at Lowell, Ark., he worked for the Tobacco Sales Co. in Jonesboro for 13 years and the Farmer-Bocken Co. of Ames, Iowa, for 13 years.
On Jan. 8, 1945, at Piggott, he married Lola Faye Wilburn who preceded him in death.
Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Roy Harold "Sonny" and Shirley Hildebrand Jr. of Fayetteville; one granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Stacey and Dustin Hildebrand of Van Buren; one grandson, Garrick D. Hildebrand of Fayetteville; one great-granddaughter, Ariana Chambers of Van Buren; and special friends, Paul and Nancy Edler of Cambridge, Iowa.
He was also preceded in death by his grandparents and great-grandparents.
Visitation is from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Landess Funeral Home in Campbell, where services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday.
Burial will follow in the Stanfield Cemetery at Clarkton.
