MARSTON - The Missouri Highway Patrol has arrested three drifters who abducted four people at gunpoint from a rest stop on Interstate 55. The men were headed to Ohio when their stolen van broke down. They wanted to use the Cape Girardeau residents' car to continue their trip.
SIKESTON - More than 300 educators and community leaders experienced an informational demonstration on the use of television in the classrooms Thursday evening at the Sikeston Inn. Falcon Cable Company along with its programmers will offer cable accessed classrooms in Sikeston schools. "This program will help to put us on the cutting edge of new technology in education," said Roger Sherman, director of secondary education.
