Your view: Here's my answer

To the citizens of Scott County,

My name is Rick Walter and I am a candidate for Scott County sheriff.

While out campaigning, I have frequently been asked if it is my intention to fire all current employees of the Sheriff's Department. I would like to set the record straight.

The answer is no. I have never stated that I intend to fire any current employees. If elected, everyone's job performance will be evaluated. All employees who are doing their job the way the taxpayers in this county would expect will have nothing to worry about. I look forward to working with them.

In writing this letter, it is my hope that this will end any speculation concerning the present employees of the Scott County Sheriff's Department.
