CHAFFEE - Stirling H. "Abe" Boyts, 81, died July 23, 2004, in a one-vehicle traffic accident on Highway 77 near Blomeyer.
Born Aug. 23, 1922, in Chaffee, son of the late John U. and Marie May Harbin Boyts, he retired as a railroad conductor for Frisco and Burlington Northern Railway. A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he was a member of the First Baptist Church and life member of VFW Post 3127 of Chaffee.
On Oct. 13, 1948, he married Alva Rea Holland who preceded him in death on Oct. 13, 2002.
Survivors include: two daughters, Janet K. Loucks of Chaffee and Tamara Hindman of Advance; and two grandchildren, Jillian L. and husband Joe Carilli of Yokosuka, Japan, and John S. Loucks of St. Louis.
One sister also preceded him in death.
Graveside military honors will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.
Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel of Chaffee is in charge of arrangements.
