SIKESTON -- Christie Marie Brown and Gary Lee Kenedy Jr. exchanged wedding vows in a 5 p.m. ceremony Jan. 18, 2003, at the First Assembly of God Church in Sikeston. The Rev. Johnny Hester performed the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Don and Janis Brown of New Madrid and the bridegroom's parents are Gary and Susie Kenedy of Matthews.
Music was provided by Sikeston Swingin' Strings Ensemble with Tina Scott and Harold Myrick.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a white A-line bridal gown designed with an off-the-shoulder bodice. The gown was embellished with beads and sequins.
Attending the bride as maid of honor was Jennifer David of Kansas City and matron of honor Faith Brown of Sikeston. Bridesmaids were Amy Brown of New Madrid, Tara Ring of St. Louis and Andrea Harris of New Madrid. Annemarie Brown of New Madrid was flower girl.
Gary Kenedy Sr. served his son as best man and groomsmen were Darren Brown of Sikeston, Donnie Brown of New Madrid, Brad Kenedy of East Prairie and Lee Wescoat of Matthews. Ring bearer was Noah Brown of Sikeston and honorary ring bearer was Donnie Ray Brown of New Madrid.
Serving the couple as ushers were Chris Roseman of Cape Girardeau, Brian Lewis of Sikeston, Danny Parker of Matthews and Aaron Gold of St. Louis.
The wedding reception, catered by Susie's Bake Shoppe, was held in the church multi-purpose building. Floral arrangements for the ceremony and reception were created by Helen's Florist.
Following a honeymoon trip to Negril, Jamaica, the new Mr. and Mrs. Kenedy are residing in Matthews.
