PUXICO - Calvin Stroup, 78, died Aug. 31, 2003, at his home near Puxico.
Born March 16, 1925, near Puxico, son of the late William A. and Cynthia Bell Daniels Stroup, he lived in the Kinder and Puxico areas all his life. He was a retired farmer and member of the Apostolic Faith Tabernacle in Sturdivant.
On Oct. 6, 1944, at Parma, he married Rebecca Canoy who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: three sons, Bill Stroup of Dexter, Ray Stroup of Puxico and Lee Stroup of LaPlace, La.; two brothers, Bill Stroup and Eldon Stroup of Puxico; one sister, Pagie Thicke of Russiaville, Ind.; and 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Puxico, where services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Dale Holman of Arab and the Rev. Ray Placher of Puxico will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Fagan Cemetery near Puxico.
