SIKESTON -- Don and Marilyn Barnes have announced the engagement of their daughter, Carrie Michelle Bailey, to James "Jimmy" Drake Jr., son of the late Jimmy Drake Sr.

A 1995 graduate of Sikeston High School, the future bride graduated as a licensed practical nurse in 1998 from the Sikeston Public Schools registered nursing program. She graduated in 2002 from Southeast Missouri State University at Cape Girardeau with a degree in registered nursing and an associate's degree in nursing. She is employed by Southeast Hospice.

Drake, a 1989 graduate of New Madrid County Central High School, is self-employed.

Wedding plans are under way for a July 3 ceremony.
