BLOOMFIELD - Luther Burns Jr., 65, died Dec. 12, 2003, at St. Luke's Hospital in St. Louis.
Born Oct. 19, 1938, at Parma, son of the late Luther and Laverne Cavness Burns, he had been a truck driver for Elfrink Truck Lines. He was currently serving as an alderman for the north ward in Bloomfield and was of the Baptist belief.
On Jan. 24, 1958, at Dexter, he married Carolyn Woodall who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: two sons, Kenny Burns and Randy Burns of Bloomfield; and three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
One daughter, Paula Kay Burns, preceded him in death.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter where services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday. The Rev. Kenneth Lambert will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Walker Cemetery at Bloomfield.
