BERTRAND - Frances Lucille Groves, 80, died at 9 p.m. Dec. 14, 2003, at the Bertrand Nursing Facility.

Born Oct. 8, 1923, in Mississippi County, daughter of the late William Carter and Althea Singleton Groves, she lived in Bertrand most of her life. She had been a nurse aide at the Bertrand Nursing Facility and was a member of the Cornerstone General Baptist Church in Bertrand.

Survivors include: two brothers, W.C. "Dub" Groves of Bertrand and Billy Groves of Farmington; one sister, Ola McClanahan of Sikeston; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Minnie Upshaw; and one brother, Jackie Groves.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston, where services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday. The Rev. David Cullen, pastor of the Cornerstone General Baptist Church, will officiate.

Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston.

Pallbearers will be: J.L. Groves, B.J. Wilkerson, Dave Hodge, Rocky Alcott, Monty George and Bruce Groves.
