SIKESTON - Thomas Edd Massey, 87, died at 10:37 p.m. June 16, 2004, at the Miner Nursing Center.
Born Nov. 9, 1916, in Ayers, Miss., son of the late Phillip Turner and Solna Bell Garner Massey, he was a member of Bethel Missionary Baptist Church. He was a self-employed farmer and had been a mechanic for Malone & Hyde before retiring.
On Sept. 12, 1936, in Cardwell, he married Bertie Mae Carter who preceded him in death on June 30, 1995.
Survivors include: four sons, Billy Wayne Massey and Silas Don Massey of Marble Hill, Eddie Joe Massey of Sikeston and Jimmy Lynn Massey of Mountain Home, Ark.; one daughter, Dorothy May Stroud of Wappapello; one brother, Sam Massey of Arbyrd; one sister, Coyeta Angotti of Piedmont; and 17 grandchildren and several great- and great-great-grandchildren.
Two sons, five brothers and two sisters also preceded him in death.
Visitation is from noon Friday until service time at 2 p.m. at Bethel Missionary Baptist Church. Jerry Adams, pastor, will officiate.
Burial will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston.
Nunnelee Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
