CHARLESTON - Ancil E. Thompson, 92, died at 3:38 a.m. June 17, 2004, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
Born March 15, 1912, in Mississippi County, son of the late Charles Edmond and Lillie Savannah Patrick Thompson, he was of the Protestant belief. He lived in Mississippi County most of his life, where he was a farmer until retiring.
On Nov. 1, 1941, he married Myrtle Marguerite May who preceded him in death on Feb. 15, 1989.
Survivors include: one daughter, Helen Dunn of Palmyra; one granddaughter, Tracy Dunn of Cape Girardeau; and several nieces and nephews.
Also preceding him in death were four brothers, Dewey George Thompson, Alfred Thompson, Walter "Pat" Thompson and Clarence Thompson; and two sisters, Laura Ann Ayers and Elsie Marie Greer.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at McMikle Funeral Home, where services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday. The Rev. Ted Wimberley of Charleston will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston.
Pallbearers will be: Eddie Barnhill, Jack Feezor, Jerry Castillon, Ronnie Northcutt, Dale Glenn and Charlie Glenn.
