MALDEN - Miss Sandra Kay Link, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Elvis Link of Malden, won the title of Miss Southeast Missouri Saturday night at the American Legion Hall in the second Junior Chamber of Commerce beauty pageant. Miss Sharon Schuchart, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Emil Schuchart of Sikeston, was first runner-up.

SIKESTON - Responding to a citizen's question, City Manager Robert Knabel said the future of the Greer Street Fire Station is uncertain because of its location in a single-family district. Knabel said several persons have expressed interest in the vacant building until learning of its zoning status. "It could be used as a single family residence or possible as a recreation office," he said.

SIKESTON - Mrs. Bill (Pat) Marble will assume the position of manager of the Sikeston Area Chamber of Commerce effective July 2. She will fill the vacancy left by the resignation of Pat Hawkins.

MATTHEWS - Renee Lathum received congratulations from Dr. Kala Stroup during Southeast Missouri State University's spring commencement on May 7. Lathum completed a bachelor of science in education degree with honors while majoring in early childhood education.

SIKESTON - The Muscular Dystrophy Association will host a "lock-up" on June 24 with proceeds going to the MDA Twin Rivers Chapter serving southeast Missouri, southern Illinois and western Kentucky. The "jail" will be placed at the Sikeston Area Chamber of Commerce.
