Anna Mitchell

LILBOURN - Anna M. Mitchell, 82, died Dec. 15, 2003, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

Born Feb. 13, 1921, in Oklahoma, daughter of the late Johnie Jackson and Olar Ward Burleson, she lived in the Catron and Lilbourn areas for the past 30 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Catron.

On Oct. 12, 1990, at New Madrid, she married Melvin Mitchell who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: two daughters, Marie Morris of Lilbourn and Frances Redman of Farmington; five brothers, Hugh Burleson of Bald Knob, Ark., David Burleson and Charlie Burleson of Arkansas, Buster Burleson of Malden and Amos Burleson of Dexter; one sister, Gracie Curtis of Waldron, Ark.; and four grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son, Rodger Redman; and two brothers, Johnie Burleson and Jessie Burleson.

Visitation is from 1 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Parma where services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday. The Rev. Carl O'Dell of Parma will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery at New Madrid.
