SIKESTON - Isaac "Ike" Tate, 70, died Dec. 12, 2004, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.
Born Jan. 21, 1934, in Memphis, Tenn., son of the late Allen and Lillie Morris Tate, he was a farmer and was also an umpire for area baseball games.
Survivors include: two daughters, Vanessa Ray of Cape Girardeau and Barbara Howard of Sikeston; three sons, Isaac Harrington of Dalton, Ill., Cleveland Brandon of East St. Louis, Ill., and Michael Tate of Nashville, Tenn.; five sisters, Alice Carter of Lynnwood, Ill., Pearlie White of Sikeston, Linda Pipkins of Chicago, India Pipkins of Harvey, Ill., and Mildred Carlock of Markham, Ill.; three brothers, Allen Tate Jr. of Harvey, Melvin Tate of Sikeston and Jessie Tate of Dolton, Ill.; and nine grandchildren.
Visitation is from 11 a.m. Saturday until service time at 1 p.m. at West End Missionary Baptist Church in Sikeston. The Rev. Chester Yarber, pastor, and the Rev. Alex Sims will officiate.
Burial will follow in Sunset of Memories Cemetery.
