Bertha Miller

DEXTER -- Bertha M. Miller, 92, died Oct. 13, 2007, at the Crowley Ridge Care Center in Dexter.

Born Aug. 15, 1915, near Dexter to the late Stephen E. and Maugreete Ruth Williams Miller Sr., she was a former bookkeeper for the Department of the Navy in Washington, D.C. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Dexter, Daughters of the Nile and The Order of Eastern Star in Washington, D.C.

On Sept. 5, 1943, at Dexter, she married William Miller who preceded her in death on Oct. 31, 1971.

Also preceding her in death were two brother, Stephen E. Miller Jr. and Thomas Daniel Miller; and four sisters, F. Lovisa Miller, Gladys M. Miller, Lucille M. Miller and A. Omega Miller.

Survivors include: one brother, Kendall M. Miller of Dexter; and one sister, Eleanor R. Ezell of Upper Marlboro, Md.

Visitation is scheduled from 5-8 p.m. today at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter where services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday. Dr. Curtis Porter will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.
