PORTAGEVILLE - Effie Mae Kimes, 91, died Jan. 10, 2004, at Portageville.
She was born Aug. 2, 1912, in the community of J.Y. to the late Albert W. and Alma Jo Henson Hoggard.
On Feb. 23, 1929, in Conran, she married Franklin Day Kimes, who preceded her in death on Aug. 10, 1977.
Also preceding her in death were two brothers, Amos Hoggard and Raymond Hoggard and two sisters, Stella Moylan and Colleen Folks.
Survivors include: four sons, Sherman Kimes, Albert "Bun" Kimes and Jackson Kimes of Portageville and Franklin Kimes of Atoka, Tenn.; two daughters, Mary Jo Barnett of Grandin and Shirley Henson of West Memphis, Tenn.; two brothers, James Hoggard of Overland Park, Kan., and Lindell Hoggard of Portageville; one sister, Gladys Stanfill of Coldwater, Mich.; and 18 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Services were conducted at 11 a.m. today at DeLisle Funeral Home in Portageville. The Rev. Danny Stevens officiated.
Burial followed in the Mounds Park Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Ronnie Kimes, Steve Kimes, Mark Kimes, Donnie Henson, John Henson and Robbie Barnett.
