LILBOURN - James "Little Pete" Weaks, 77, died Jan. 4, 2004, at the Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau.

Born Oct. 6, 1926, in Lilbourn, son of the late Walter and Pearl Coffee Weaks, he was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He owned and operated a used car lot and gas station before retiring.

Survivors include: two sisters, Jeanette Garner of St. Louis and Annie J. Moll of Wildwood; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation is from noon Wednesday until service time at 2 p.m. at Ponder Funeral Home in Lilbourn. The Rev. Rick Dunn, pastor of Grape Chapel Church of God, will officiate.

New Madrid American Legion Post 595 will conduct full graveside military rites at Mounds Park Cemetery near Lilbourn.

Pallbearers will be: Donald Ray Townley, Larry Joe Holtzhouser, Sonny Weaks, Dick Twitty, Kimbrell Streeter and Tim Sullenger.

Honorary pallbearers will be: Kayo Lloyd, Blackie Tope and Jim Maynord.
