MALDEN - Sue Uthoff Snow, 74, died Jan. 4, 2004, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
Born Oct. 12, 1929, in Malden, daughter of the late Collis P. and Bessie Lee Gulledge Buchanan, she had been a teacher for East Prairie Schools. She owned and operated Uthoff Grocery in Malden and was a bookkeeper for Santie Oil Company in Malden for 10 years. For 29 years, she had served as the Delta Area Economic Opportunity Corporation's six-county office manager until retiring. She was a member of the Kimball Baptist Church in Malden.
On Aug. 24, 1948, at Piggott, Ark., she married Richard Pope who preceded her in death. She and Amos J. Uthoff were married Nov. 14, 1961, at Bloomfield and he died Oct. 28, 1989.
On June 19, 2001, at Piggott, she married Curtis P. Snow who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: one daughter and son-in-law, Jenna and Shaun Bates of Malden; one son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Nancy Pope of Camdenton; three brothers, Benny Buchanan of Dexter, William Buchanan of Inverness, Fla., and Robert Buchanan of Sikeston; and seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Also preceding her in death were two sons, Stephen Ford Pope and William Paul Pope; and one brother, Billy Buchanan.
Visitation is from 6 to 9 p.m. today at Landess Funeral Home in Malden, where services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Gene Lancaster will officiate.
Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery at Malden.
