Your view: A team effort

Mayor, members of City Council, all departments and volunteers for the City of Miner:

I have written this in regards to the City Council meeting Jan. 11, 2005. My husband, Billy Williams, was presented with a plaque for "Recognition above and beyond the call of duty" for his actions during the past snow storm in December.

This was not to single him out as one individual getting recognition, and I believe the person initiating this did not mean to downplay the hard work and long hours that many people of all the departments put in during the storm.

Everyone involved deserve tremendous recognition and heartfelt thanks for the long hours and hard work they did.

The fact is, that everyone worked as a team and as a community pulling together to help others in a crisis.

Thankfully, there weren't any serious injuries or fatalities due to the long hours and dedication of all departments working throughout the storm.

A huge thanks goes to all the departments and volunteers for a job well done.

Mrs. Billy Williams
