SIKESTON -- Laura Elizabeth Davidson and Jonathan Matthew Oliver exchanged wedding vows in a 6:30 p.m. ceremony April 5, 2003, at Tanner Street Church of God before the Rev. Carl Addison, pastor. Lectors were Matthew Borne of Sherwin, Texas, Mike Young of Murray, Ky., and Erin Bailey and Brad Heacox of Sikeston.

The bride is the daughter of Allan and Susan Davidson of Sikeston and granddaughter of Charlotte Johnson and Shirley Miller of Sikeston and the late Gene Johnson and Don Miller.

Parents of the bridegroom are Lacy and Cheryl Oliver of Cadiz, Ky. He is the grandson of Hazel Oliver of Hopkinsville, Ky., and the late Howard and Geneva Anderson and Robert Oliver.

Music for the ceremony was provided by organist Joan Grant of Sikeston and pianist and vocalist Tina Scott of Sikeston. Other vocalists included Ashley Crook of Nashville, Tenn., Alan Baker of Evansville, Ind., Merideth Pobst of Farmington, Sam Arnett of Murray, and Brad Wilson and Jennifer Priday of Sikeston. Harold Myrick of Sikeston served as sound technician. Selections for the ceremony included "From This Moment," "This Day," "The Parents' Prayer," "There You'll Be" and "There is Love."

Maids of honor were Andrea Lawson of Floyds Knob, Ind., Jamie Vierkant of Paducah, Ky., and Suzanne "Betsy" Sharp of Sikeston. Bridesmaids were Sara Utley of Dixon, Ky., Marilee Morgan of Benton, Ky., and Katie Davidson of Marietta, Ga., cousin of the bride. Danielle Mingo, daughter of Dorsey and Kim Mingo of Memphis, Tenn., was flower girl.

Serving as best men were Jeremy Toombs of Guthrie, Ky., and Reese Torrence of Bowling Green, Ky. Groomsmen were Jason Goodyke of Paducah, Matt James of Bowling Green, Bob Scales of Boonville, Ky., and Chris Davidson of Sikeston, brother of the bride. Cody Rogers, son of Tim and Jamie Rogers of Sikeston, served as ring bearer.

Ushers were Philip Davidson of Cape Girardeau, cousin of the bride; and Matt Metzger of Sikeston, Kyle Hensley of Hopkinsville, Chad Veenstra of Robinson, Ill., Derek Jackson of Russellville, Ky., and Jeff Heacox of Sikeston, friends of the couple.

Candlelighters were Mike Gilkey of Louisville, Ky., and Tim Wanke of Cadiz. Remembrance candlelighters were Mark Fraser and Morgan Fraser, son and daughter of Dennis and Julie Fraser of Sikeston.

Sarah Addison of Sikeston, friend of the bride, was guest book attendant. Program attendant was Kelly Launius of Sikeston, friend of the bride.

A reception was held at the Best Western Coach House Inn where cake servers included Courtney Pollock-Gibson of Murray, April Baker of Evansville and Leslie Tynes of Benton, Ky.

Parents of the couple hosted a rehearsal dinner April 4 at the Clinton Building in Sikeston.

Mrs. Oliver received a bachelor's degree in elementary education in December 2003 from Murray State University. She is employed with the Calloway County School District in Murray.

Oliver is a recruitment counselor for Murray State University where he plans to finish his master's degree in business in June 2004.

Mr. and Mrs. Oliver are making their home in Murray.
