SIKESTON - Mrs. J.R. Carroll delightfully entertained Friday with a party for her daughter, Abbie, who that day celebrated her birth anniversary.

SIKESTON - Miss Donna Ray Dumay, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jim Dumay of Route Four of Sikeston, was announced as the valedictorian of the 1964 graduating class of Scott Central High School at graduation exercises May 21. Salutatorian was Larry LaCroix, son of Mrs. Barbara LaCroix of Sikeston Route Four, and the late Ed LaCroix.

DEXTER - The recently completed Dexter Fire Station is scheduled to be dedicated July 1. The ceremony, scheduled from 2 to 4 p.m., will also include open house, equipment display and demonstration of the new aerial "telesquirt" pumper.

SIKESTON - Jan Ellen Felker, Standard Democrat Calendar Girl for June, enjoys picnics in the park on her family's quilt. The daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Ed Felker, the 1994 SHS graduate is headed for Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. She hopes to become a pediatrician.

SIKESTON - SEMO Christian Academy conducted graduation ceremonies for the Kindergarten Class on May 23. The graduating students were: Zach Bohannon, Hailey McElwain, Tyler Jacobs, Lindley Duncan, Christopher Cooper, Jerrica Miller, Austin Gelsheimer, Jordan Phenicie, Zach Thatcher, Logan Inman, Tyler Dodd, Brittney Bard, Garrett May, Layne Crader, Michael Meyer, Andrea Walters, Dillion Brasher, Gregory Bain, Johnathan Eftink, Michael Watkins, Austin McConnell and Stephanie Lewis.
