David Townsend

DEXTER - William David Townsend, 61, died Oct. 31, 2003, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

Born Feb. 3, 1942, at Fisk, son of the late James and Myrtle Williams Townsend, he was a retired salesman and lived in Dexter for the past 25 years. He was a member of the Dudley Community Church.

On July 1, 1967, he married Barbara Holyfield who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: two daughters, Melissa Hahn and Carla Pixley of Dexter; six brothers, Carl Townsend of Malden, Bob Townsend of St. Louis, Larry Townsend of Pacific, Jerry Townsend of Dudley, Louie Townsend of Piedmont and Pete Townsend of Jackson; three sisters, Shirley Bender of Puxico, Emma Lou Hobbs of Dudley and Joann Horn of Farmington; and four grandchildren.

Services were conducted at 1 p.m. today at Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield with the Rev. Don Morgan officiating.

Burial followed in the Bloomfield Cemetery.
