Freak accident

Sikeston Department of Public Safety and Scott County Ambulance personnel work to free Mona Ainsworth, 93, of Sikeston, from under the passenger-side tire of a vehicle which pinned her down in a freak accident at approximately 4:22 p.m. Friday in the strip mall's parking lot near A Touch of Class on S. Kingshighway. The car apparently slipped into reverse as she was exiting or entering the passenger side of the vehicle. Ainsworth is reportedly doing well after being flown to a Cape Girardeau hospital for minor injuries with no broken bones.
