Emma Durbin

Born Nov. 9, 1916, in Tennessee, daughter of the late Steve and Mary Wilson Smith, she was a member of the First Baptist Church.

On Nov. 30, 1930, in Tennessee, she married William K. Durbin, who preceded her in death in 1971.

Survivors include: four sons, Elbert Durbin and Ricky Durbin of Hayward, Perry Durbin of Adamsville, Tenn., and Thomas Durbin of Portageville; four daughters, Billy Sue Whitley and Jewell Sweat of Lilbourn, Bessie Whitley of Salmer, Tenn., and Becky Goodman of Portageville; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Frank Durbin and Montie Durbin; one daughter, Ruth Ann Durbin; three brothers, Joe Smith, West Smith and Jess Smith; and one sister, Martha Henry.

Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. today at DeLisle Funeral Home with the Rev. Mark Inman officiating.

Burial will follow in the Portageville Cemetery.
