Monday, February 18, 2002

MORLEY -- Jared Ritter scored 28 points, Andrew Jenkins added 15 and Cain Kelley had 11 to lead Advance (16-8) to a 79-71 win over Scott Central Friday night. Chris Johnson led SCC (14-9) with 20 points. Chris Pullen had 15, Terrance Williams 14 and Desmen Johnson 11.

The Hornets shot 33 free throws in the game and made 27. The Braves were just 5-of-11 from the free throw line.

"It was a physical game between two good teams," said Scott Central head coach Steve Wells. "It's a shame that the officials had to get in the way. But that's the way it happens sometimes. We'll probably meet up with Advance in the district tournament."

POPLAR BLUFF - Senior Ben Brumitt was 4-for-8 from downtown and led the Mules (22-3, 7-1) with 16 points in a 76-53 win over Charleston on Friday.
