SIKESTON - A Scott County Milling Co. truck and trailer went into the river at Tiptonville, Tenn., Friday morning. The truck was driven by Wayne Davis of Sikeston and was carrying feed and flour.


SIKESTON - The General Contract Purpose Corp., through the vice president Dillon Ross, is prepared to purchase $50,000 in war bonds in the Third War Loan Drive to be staged in Sikeston.

BELL CITY - In a general assembly of the Bell City High School Monday morning, Miss Jane Fisher, senior, was chosen as Miss Bell City.

CHARLESTON - Bob Fuchs, special prosecutor named in the "chop shop" truck cases filed almost three years ago, met Thursday with the Mississippi County Commission to provide a status update and explain the delay in getting the cases to trial.
