SIKESTON - Ernest Kellett of Kellett's Oliver Tractor and Implement Agency here, announced today that Alva Garner, formerly of Garner Dement Motor Co., will be associated with the firm as shop foreman.

EAST PRAIRIE - The East Prairie Chamber of Commerce has announced that dates and plans have been set for the Fall Festival or Homecoming to be Oct. 8 to 11. On Oct. 9, there will be the Homecoming Parade and on Oct. 10 the merchants will hold a Merchants Parade.

SIKESTON - Jeff Lester, Missouri Future Business Leaders of America president, and Freddie L. Graham, Jobs Training Partnership Act supervisor for the Division of Employment Security, were featured speakers at Thursday's meeting of the Sikeston Area Chamber of Commerce. In addition to reports presented by various committees, the meeting at the Holiday Inn included an announcement by President Lee Stallings of a performance of Lee Mace's Ozark Opry for Nov. 9.

MINER - The Women's Division of the Sikeston Area Chamber of Commerce will sponsor the 19th Annual Christmas Arts and Crafts Show and Sale Nov. 4-6 at the Ramada Inn. The craft show hours will be 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. There will be approximately 80 craft booths this year featuring a variety of crafts.

SIKESTON - The American Legion Ladies Auxiliary hosted a luncheon for three veterans: Kathleen Sloan, Ella Carroll and Phylis Spitler. Hostesses for the event were: Naomi Davis, Marie Little, Clara Knuckles and Vee Holman.
