This is for the person who said they would like the clerk to count the money back to you. I hate to disappoint you, but most of them can't even count, which is the reason they don't count the money back. If you have something that's $1.86 and you give them $2.01 because you don't want any pennies back, you really blow their mind.

Mike, regarding your Feb. 20 editorial about drunk driving brochures, I couldn't agree with you more. We don't need more brochures. As you said, we need more brochures like we need a hole in our head. We need prosecutors and judges to take DWI offenders seriously. You sure can't do that with a brochure. I will go further and say there are other problems to finish too, such as when St. Louis big-whig lawyers cause a three-car accident in St. Louis and don't get into any trouble. There are a lot of problems and I can think of that as the most recent example. Not much happens at all, if anything, to a big, rich, big-whig lawyer who might be related to an area congressman.

I want to say a big thank you and God bless to Brenda McClinton. She found my purse on Feb. 21 on the parking lot at Market Place. She looked at my driver's license and knew where I worked and returned it to me. I wish there were more honest people like her.

We've all heard of the liberal media on the major news networks, and they are all liberal predominately. There are also some conservative media. I refer to some of the local papers in the area, one of them being in Sikeston. Once again, you guys are true to Republican form when a chief of staff of senator or pro tem Peter Kinder resigns, where do we find it in your paper? Page 7, wouldn't it. Hmmm - imagine that. A couple of other big stories of the day - distinguished principal's award among other things on the front page. You would think that a chief of staff resigning under ethical questions would be at least on page 2.

If you were a newspaper editor and had four headlines, which of these would you put on the front page and which would you put on page 7? (A) Old man winter isn't so bad; (B) Glueck clicks as her job as kindergarten principal; (C) Grant aids museum growth; and (D) Senator Kinder's chief of staff resigns. If you picked D among your three choices, were correct. If you didn't, you were this paper.

I have a couple of children at Sikeston High School. What are the rules and regulations regarding prescription drugs at school. Hypothetically, what if someone was to pass out a prescription drug at school? What would be the penalty for that sort of thing? It's just a question I'm concerned about and I wasn't sure who to reach on the school board.
