EAST PRAIRIE - Cecil Dale "C.D." Lynch, 68, formerly of Sikeston, died at 5:30 a.m. Sept. 12, 2003, at the East Prairie Nursing Center.
Born May 1, 1935, in Mississippi County, son of Helen Dale Peters Lynch of Bertrand and the late Cecil Lynch, he served with the U.S. Army during the Korean War. A Baptist minister, Lynch had served as pastor of the Old Bethel Church and New Savannah Baptist Church near Sikeston, Dorena Baptist Church and the Diehlstadt Baptist Church. He was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Sikeston and was former owner and operator of Lynch Brothers MFA in Sikeston.
On Dec. 23, 1957, in Hernando, Miss., he married Doris Haney who survives of the home.
Survivors in addition to his wife and mother include: one son and daughter-in-law, Terry Bruce and Alice McClain of East Prairie; three brothers, Johnny Lynch of Demotte, Ind., Carl Melvin Lynch of Bertrand and Donald Lynch of East Prairie; three sisters, Helen Jaco of Benton, Anita Parker of West Memphis, Ark., and Robbie Haddock of Bertrand; and two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Blanchard Funeral Chapel in Sikeston where services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday. The Rev. Joe McCullough, pastor of Fellowship Baptist Church, and the Rev. Burl Britt, associate pastor of the Full Gospel Church of East Prairie, will officiate.
Burial will follow in the IOOF Cemetery near Charleston.
