CAPE GIRARDEAU - Howard G. Shelton, 72, formerly of Puxico, died Sept. 23, 2004, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.
Born March 19, 1932, in Malden, son of the late John and Ollie Shelton, he was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and was a maintenance supervisor for U.S. Fish and Wildlife at Mingo before retiring. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, VFW Post 7822 and the Lions Club in Puxico.
On Jan. 26, 1952, he married JoAnn Snider who preceded him in death on June 20, 1999. He and Carolyn Sue Graves were married Oct. 5, 2002, and she survives of the home.
Other survivors include: two sons and daughters-in-law, Steve and Sharon Shelton of Sikeston and Mike and Kathy Shelton of St. Louis; one daughter and son-in-law, Jo Leah and Rob Taylor of Puxico; one stepdaughter, Meloyde Sandlin of Bloomfield; 15 brothers and sisters and eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Services were conducted Sunday at the First United Methodist Church in Puxico.
Burial followed in the Puxico City Cemetery.
Morgan Sifford Funeral Home of Puxico was in charge of arrangements.
