SIKESTON - Pansy Ayers, 85, died Sept. 22, 2004, at the Sikeston Convalescent Center.
Born Dec. 13, 1918, in rural Matthews, daughter of the late Thomas and Eva Denning Uthoff, she was a member of the Murray Lane Baptist Church in Sikeston and had owned and operated Midwest L.P. Gas Company in Morehouse with her husband before retiring.
On Jan. 12, 1938, she married Royce Ayers who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: one son, Lee Royce Ayers of Gilbertsville, Ky.; two daughters, Neva Settles of Leawood, Kan., and Belinda Ayers of Alton, Ill.; one sister, Donna Byassee of East Prairie; and three grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
One great-granddaughter preceded her in death.
Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Saturday at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston where funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday.
Burial will follow in the Dogwood Cemetery at Dogwood.
