MORLEY - A birthday dinner was celebrated at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Odus Boley for his mother, Mrs. John Boley.
CHARLESTON - Voters in the R-1 Charleston School District are voting today on the $1.4 million bond issue for a new high school building. The proposed bond issue will not raise the taxes for the 1965-66 school year nor the following year, but after the third year the tax rate would probably be set at $3.50 per $100 assessed valuation. The new building would be located on a 40-acre plot in the southeast portion of Charleston off of old Highway 60 east of the city.

JEFFERSON CITY - Missourians came one step closer to being able to play the lottery following Thursday's approval by the Missouri Senate of a bill to implement the constitutional amendment for a lottery overwhelmingly passed by the state's voters last November.

SIKESTON - The Bulldogs drilled DeSmet Wednesday night in sectional basketball action. Several hundred Sikeston fans made the trek to Hillsboro for the game. The Sikeston Booster Club is chartering a bus which will depart at 11 a.m. Saturday from the front of the Sikeston Field House.
SIKESTON - Local junior and senior high students will see if their hard work in the field of science has paid off when the 18th Annual Sikeston Public School Science Fair comes to a conclusion on Sunday. The Science Fair awards ceremony will take place on the stage of the Field House at 3:30 p.m. Sunday where ribbons for first, second and third place will be awarded in each of the represented junior and senior division categories.
