DEXTER - New Madrid County Central boys track team won the SEMO Central Conference recently. In the meet, they tallied a season-high 182 points. Notre Dame was second with 143, Dexter third with 84, Charleston was fourth with 72, Caruthersville was fifth with 30 and Kennett placed sixth with 18.
Jeffrey McFarland was the Conference Champion in the 100, 200, 400 and ran a leg on the winning 4 x 200 meter relay, which included Bruce Howard, James Bell and T.J. Bevly.
The 4x100 relay team also took first place. The team is made up of T.J. Bevly, Eugene Cooper, Bruce Howard and James Bell.
Other conference champions were Alandis Maxwell (triple jump), Sherman Newsome (high jump) and Printice Willis in the shot put and discus. Silver medalists at the conference meet were Eugene Cooper (100 and 400), Brad Colbert (discus) and the 4 x 400 relay team of James Bell, Deionte Farr, David Craft and Eugene Cooper.
Other medalists were Dremon Wade (110 high hurdles and the 300 intermediate hurdles), Delanio Taylor (300 intermediate hurdles), Deionte Farr (800), Darrence Perkins (200 and long jump), LaTerrance Newsom (high jump), the 4 x 800 relay team (David Craft, Deionte Farr, Markell Long and LaTerrance Newsom), and Markell Long in the 1600. Long improved his 1600 time by 42 seconds to finish third in that event.
Every member of the Eagle track team at the meet earned all-conference honors by scoring in their respective event.
