NEW MADRID - Glen Ramsey, 87, died June 14, 2004, at the St. Louis University Hospital.
Born March 8, 1917, in Advance, son of the late Jasper and Irene Lape Ramsey, he was a retired farmer and member of the Jay Wye Church of God.
On Nov. 5, 1939, at Risco, he married Della Street who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: two sons, Bill Ramsey of Jackson and Wally Ramsey of Marston; four daughters, Glenda Evans of Campbell, Carolyn Hatter of Nellysford, Va., and Lawanda Lalk and Sharon Henry of New Madrid; two brothers, Jasper Ramsey Jr. of Portageville and Gary Ramsey of Nashville, Tenn.; one sister, Lovida Eastwood of Qulin; and 14 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother, one grandson and one great-granddaughter.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Ponder Funeral Home in Lilbourn, where services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday. The Rev. Danny Stevens, pastor of Jay Wye Church of God, will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery at New Madrid.
Pallbearers will be: Jimmy Lalk, Chris Ramsey, Ricky Troutt, Randy Meadows, Jimmy Ramsey, Steve Beltz, Mike Troutt, Keith Lalk, Billy Ramsey Jr., Chad Ramsey and Terry Baylor.
