SIKESTON - Sikeston Public Schools is requesting assistance from the citizens of the R-6 School District to retain $1,181,000 on Oct. 5, 1993. This urgent request is the result of Senate Bill 380 (Outstanding School Act) passed by the legislators and signed by the governor on May 27.

MALDEN - Brittany McDonald, 12-year-old daughter of Pat and Duke McDonald of Sikeston, was crowned Junior Miss Southeast Missouri July 31 at the Malden Community Center. Fourth alternate was Kristen Hall, 12, daughter of Sabra and Mark Hall of Poplar Bluff; second alternate was Hilary Scrivner, 11, daughter of Dale and Terry Scrivner of Poplar Bluff; first alternate, Tenia Porch, 12, daughter of Terry and Judy Porch of Poplar Bluff; and Raven Jones, 12, daughter of Dwight and Janice Jones of Malden.
