CHAFFEE - Barbara Mary Landewee, 90, died at 6:33 a.m. Feb. 6, 2005, at the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
Born July 14, 1914, in Bollinger County, to the late William H. and Anna Hinkebein Vandeven, she was a homemaker and for many years served as a 4-H leader. A member of the St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Chaffee, she was a member of the Daughters of St. Ambrose, Legion of Mary, St. Ann's Sodality and the New Hamburg Senior Citizens.
On April 14, 1937, she married Frank J. Landewee who preceded her in death on Feb. 2, 1993.
Three brothers and two sisters also preceded her in death.
Survivors include: three sons, Harold J. Landewee and Jerome Landewee of Oran and Irvin Landewee of Cape Girardeau; four daughters, Patricia Kern, Mary Frances Glastetter and Bernice Kern of New Hamburg and Carolyn Leitle of Aurora; one sister, Martha DeBrock of Marble Hill; and 21 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and four great-stepgrandchildren.
Visitation will begin at 4 p.m. Tuesday at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee where a prayer service is scheduled for 7 p.m. followed by a Knights of Columbus Rosary at 7:15 p.m. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the St. Ambrose Catholic Church with the Rev. Ralph Duffner officiating.
Pallbearers will be: Dale Kern, Neal Kern, Shawn Kern, Torey Kern, Todd Landewee, Tim Landewee and David Landewee.
