SIKESTON - Miss Louise Jackson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A.M. Jackson, who is attending the University of Missouri in Columbia, has been awarded a silver cup for her comical script which appeared in the Savitar Frolics.

SIKESTON - Mr. and Mrs. A.B. Comer received a message from the War Department this morning advising that their son, Staff Sgt. Guy B. Comer, was missing in action in Germany since April 8.

SIKESTON - One of five bridge approaches yet to be poured on Interstate 55 from Scott City south remains unfinished and will be laid starting this week. The several hundred feet approaches and shoulder work will be completed by mid-summer.

SIKESTON - Sikeston's Jeff Dacus was out on the plate on a tag by NMCC pitcher Payton Hadley, Tuesday. But the Bulldogs have been scoring plenty of runs and they'll try for more today against Jackson in a 4:15 p.m. games at VFW Stadium. The SHS softball team is a Poplar Bluff today; the golf and tennis teams host Poplar Bluff.

SIKESTON - Sikeston will receive air support to complement the tank in Veterans Park. A F-4J Phantom Jet will be placed on display in the park. The jet will be transported from the Naval Air Technical Training Center, Naval Air Station in Millington, Tenn., sometime in the near future.

SIKESTON - The Sikeston Middle School EAGLES team performed a skit complete with costumes and back drop, solved a problem with mail delivers and participated in a spontaneous problem solving competition to win second place in the state Odyssey of the Mind competition. Members of the team are Nathan Bell, Ellie Miller, Jonathan Moxey, Emily Borgsmiller, Aimee Butcher, Cal Crader and Blake Miller.
