SIKESTON -- Herbert A. "Herb" Schuerenberg Jr., 59, died at 1:30 p.m. March 29, 2005, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
Born Nov. 26, 1945, in Kewanee, son of the late Herbert A. and Anna B. Bizzell Schuerenberg Sr., he was a landowner and farmer for many years in Scott and New Madrid counties. He also had a private pilot's license, had been a member of the Scott County Sheriff's Posse, and had previously served in Charlie Company of the 1140th Engineer Battalion of the Missouri National Guard.
On Aug. 9, 1968, he married Berta Jane McWaters, who preceded him in death on Jan. 23, 1991.
He then married Sue Baldridge on Nov. 26, 1994, in Sikeston, and she survives of the home.
Other survivors include: five sons and one daughter-in-law, Rick and Leah Schuerenberg, Trey Schuerenberg, Jonathan Schuerenberg, Jesse Due and Alan Due of Sikeston; two brothers, Glen Schuerenberg of Matthews and Dick Schuerenberg of Tampa, Fla.; five sisters, Judith Sullivan and June Roberts of Matthews, Ellen Bond of Jasper, Ga., Jane Young of Lawrenceville, Ga., and Joy Householder of Amory, Miss.; and two grandchildren, Hunter Schuerenberg and Kramer Schuerenberg of Sikeston.
He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Ralph, Bobby and Spike Schuerenberg; and one sister, Betty Schuerenberg.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston, where services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Friday. The Rev. Jim Barnhart, minister of Miner Baptist Church, will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery at Sikeston.
Pallbearers will be: Daniel Vaughn, Bill Lindsey, Jason Schuerenberg, Cleatus Mallory, Ricky Smith, Jimmy Hicks and Kenny Haynes.
Honorary pallbearers will be: Rick Adams, Bill Ferrell, Junior Peters, Scott Matthews, Jerry Laseter, David Baldridge and Kelly Harms.
