SIKESTON - Z.T. Jackson, 88, died March 23, 2003, at the Clearview Nursing Center.
Born Nov. 26, 1914, in Charleston, son of the late W.E. and Mary Jackson, he was a member of the First Baptist Church in Sikeston. He was a retired self-employed carpenter and U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
On June 1, 1940, in Sikeston, he married Mary Strack who preceded him in death on Dec. 11, 2002.
Survivors include: two sons, Ed Jackson of Holt's Summit and Paul E. Jackson of Wisconsin; two daughters, Sharon Statler of Millington, Tenn., and Martha Bohlman of Illinois; two brothers, Harvey Jackson of East Prairie and E. Paul Jackson of Charleston; one sister, Nellie Robertson of Cape Girardeau; and five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Ponder Funeral Home, where services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday. The Rev. David Jackson, associate pastor of the First Baptist Church, will officiate.
Full military graveside honors will be conducted at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston.
