SIKESTON - Lt. A.D. Marti of Sikeston is now stationed at Randolph Field, Texas, attending a school of aviation medicine with the purpose of becoming a flight surgeon.

SIKESTON - Mr. and Mrs. Leo Fischer entertained at a buffet supper at their home on North Ranney Tuesday evening in honor of the birth anniversary of Mr. Fisher.

SIKESTON - Fourteen boys from Sikeston will attend Boys State: Mike Zaricor, Stanley Lynn Lancaster, Bill Lankford, Paul Conley, Terry Johnson, William Payne, John McMullen, Bruce Barker, Ronnie Hurley, James Swearingen, Steve Sikes, Wesley Godwin, Gary Denbow and Bruce Whiteaker.

CHARLESTON - Confusion, bickering and accusations were prevalent during a Wednesday afternoon meeting of the Mississippi County Ambulance District's board of directors. The main topics of discussion were the resignation of field director Tom Shemonia and dismissals of Earl Sisk and Ron Watson.

PORTAGEVILLE - Southeast Missouri students, agricultural research and the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Medicine will benefit from a bequest of more than $1,271,213.31 by a Portageville woman. Helen Mae Clarahan Spiese, a Portageville resident who died Jan. 10, 1986, provided equally in her will for the university's medicine and agriculture programs, including the Delta Agricultural Research Center at Portageville.

SIKESTON - As part of the city's summer tour schedule, the Sikeston Department of Public Safety hosted a tour of its facilities to the public Wednesday afternoon. Capt. Joe Sebourn demonstrated to the group how a suspect is booked.
