Born April 28, 1913, in Dexter, son of the late Charles and Emma May Hammond Turlington, he was a member of the First Baptist Church in Dexter. A retired painter and former employee of the Dexter Post Office, he served with the U.S. Navy in World War II. He was also a member of Kenady-Hanks American Legion Post 59, NARFE Postal Association and the Southeast Missouri Baseball Hall of Fame.
On Sept. 5 1936, in Bloomfield, he married Dorris May Eaton who survives of the home.
One son, Terry Turlington of Kennett and two grandchildren also survive.
He was preceded in death by one brother, John Turlington; and one sister, Zoe Campbell.
Visitation is fro 6 to 8 p.m. today at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter where services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Don Kennedy will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.
