CAPE GIRARDEAU - A New Madrid businessman and former law enforcement officer was arraigned in U.S. District court today on drug charges.
Federal officials took T.C. Collins of New Madrid into custody for an arraignment on a charge of distribution of a cocaine base. The charge stems from an incident on Dec. 22, 2002.
U.S. Attorney Larry Farrell is overseeing the case and was not available for further comment at press time.
Collins, who owned Jasmine's, a club in New Madrid, previously served as the Howardville chief of police.
