SIKESTON - The Sikeston City Council will hear additional public comments on the recently-adopted animal control ordinance during their regular meeting scheduled for 5 p.m. Monday.
"Since the adoption of the new ordinance, animal owners have contacted the Council with questions and concerns," said Mayor Michael Marshall. "We are providing the public this opportunity to meet with Council and to discuss their concerns prior to the ordinance's implementation."
The new regulations go into effect today, but animal owners have until July 4 to comply with all the ordinance's requirements.
